Health And Safety
Safety is everyone's responsibility
At Aurecon, occupational health and safety is of primary importance. We are committed to the health and safety of our employees, contractors and visitors at work. Our established Health & Safety system aims to provide safe places of work, safe systems of work, safe plant and equipment, information, instruction and training and effective supervision.
We believe Health & Safety is everyone's responsibility and does not solely lie on the shoulders of the company. Our staff are required to comply with company policy, legislative requirements, safety and health management systems and other requirements such as standards and codes of practice.
The Health and Safety team regularly hosts in-house awareness programs as part of our goal to encourage a health and safety conscious culture at the workplace. In 2008, we launched an internal monthly newsletter, “Safety Matters” which incorporates articles, competitions, recipes and spot the hazard photo's sent in by staff.
In addition to this, Aurecon celebrated its first international Health & Safety Week. As part of the celebration employees and families were invited to participate in a poster competition on what health & safety means to them. The winning posters will be put in all office world wide.
In 2009 the Health & safety Team plan to promote four awareness weeks. These include, site safety awareness, office safety awareness, Aurecon Health & Safety Week and health and fitness week.
