Two young engineers from Aurecon NZ were selected, as part of a prestigious young professionals management training programme, to attend the annual global FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers) conference, “Global Challenges and Sustainable Solutions” held in London in September.  Only 20 young professionals in total were selected to attend this FIDIC training programme, so Aurecon New Zealand made up 10% of attendees. Tristan Ilich and Jan Kupec, from Aurecon’s Auckland and Christchurch offices, were sponsored to participate in the four day workshop conference which involved 20 young professionals
including clients, architects and executives from every continent.  Tristan was selected by the attendees to give the opening address and spoke on ‘Human Resources’ and ‘Ownership.’     The other topics tackled by the young professionals management training programme included ‘Professional Sustainability’ and ‘Image of the Engineer’. Tristan said,”Having the opportunity to work alongside a diverse range of fellow professionals in a constructive and intellectually challenging environment was a highlight of the conference”. “A lifetime network has now been created amongst our group, the real value was meeting people face-to-face,” added Jan Kupec.
