Aurecon's office in Hanoi was opened as a Pacific Power office in 2001 and became a Aurecon office in 2003. It was initially set up to support power projects such as the Pha Lai 2 coal fired power station. With its growing success, the office has now moved into the buildings and telecommunications sector.

Projects
BlueScope Steel Coating Expansion Plant, Vietnam
A new steel coating facility for BlueScope Steel, Located in the Phu My 1 Industrial Estate near Ho Chi Minh City comprises of storage buildings, metal coating line, coil paint line, workshops, electrical rooms, chemical stores, water treatment plant and administration building. Aurecon's scope of work was the civil and structural design of the facility, including the design of the equipment foundations. We worked closely with the equipment supplier (Kawasaki Heavy Industries) for the design of the equipment foundations.

Phu My 3
Aurecon (Thailand) completed the design and detailing of the balance of plant works (structural and civil) for a Combined Cycle Power Plant in Vietnam. The design began in October 2001 and was completed on time in September 2002 and involved close coordination with Siemens in Germany and India.
The project included the design of a turbine hall for two large turbines, an inlet canal and pumping station, pipe bridges, foundations for boilers and tanks, filling stations, outlet chamber, blow-down pits, as well as design of road, pavements and stormwater drainage.
Aurecon also completed a hydraulic study of the cooling water systems, involving the analysis of flow in the inlet canal, pumping station, pipes and outlet chamber.
